Injectables: BOTOX® and Fillers
Commonly also known as a liquid face lift, BOTOX® and Fillers are gratifying, non-surgical aesthetic and clinical short term solutions which address a number of issues.
BOTOX® is a neurotoxin which weakens or paralyzes specific muscles by blocking certain nerves. The effects last from three to twelve months, determined by the treatment area coupled with the patient’s consttution.
Although BOTOX® was initially introduced to treat chronic migraines, BOTOX® is now also being used for:
Temporary smoothing of facial lines and wrinkles
Hyper hidrosis-severe underarm sweating
There is a broad range of both clinical and aesthetic filler applications. Fillers can be used to restore volume as well as rejuvenate, reshape and contour facial features. Additionally Hyaluronic Acid, a base component of one of the many filler substances, may also be used for mimicking knee (synovial) fluid to relieve joint pain. Choice in filler material is often dictated by a number of variables including the viscosity required to achieve volume desired for the target treatment area, and the practitioner or patient preferance.
