For those of you who live in New York State (and even for those who do not), there is a proposal to ban all pesticides on public and private schools in New York State right now before the governor. It has been approved by the State Legislature already. This ban would cost the New York State nothing, as organic treatments are in this case quite a bit cheaper than chemical applications, but obviously the chemical industry is pushing hard to convince the governor to veto the bill.
